Summer Highlights
/Somehow I blinked and its already the end of July! This has been our busiest and most wonderful season yet, so I wanted to take a moment to share some updates of what has been happening so far this year.
We’ve had the privilege of welcoming 45 guests to the farm already for our ‘On the Flower Farm’ workshops, and we still have 3 more workshops to go! {As of today, September 6 still has a few spaces available.} Our friend Tiffany of BellaVie Photography joined us for the first workshop and captured some beautiful photos. The fields have been looking so great and I am constantly blown away by the people who choose to join us at the farm - they are seriously the nicest people ever! We collaborate with other local vendors to round out the experience: snacks from Verbena Cakes and Catering, dessert from Butter and Blooms and calligraphy cards by Studio 46:10. It really is such a joy to share the farm with people during these workshops!
The dahlias are in full bloom! After losing almost our dahlia crop last season due to extreme weather and poor drainage, I am beyond excited that this year’s crop is looking fantastic. We’re growing just about 2000 plants and over 50 varieties. The harvesting and deadheading (or “blossom promotion” as some of my helpers call it) never stops, but we’re not complaining!
We had the huge privilege of hosting the production team from BHLDN for their summer photoshoot a few weeks ago! It was incredible to see the full hair and makeup teams, wardrobe, influencers and photographers at work. Everyone involved was so kind and respectful of our farm. Plus, I got to design the florals for their 2 days of shooting! Keep an eye out on social media and the web at the end of July to get a peek of the farm and our flowers in their next campaign. And if you’re in the market for a wedding, party or bridesmaid dress, look no further - their new designs are gorgeous!
We have designed the flowers for 20 weddings already this year - plus several special events - and are gearing up for a busy fall wedding season too. We deliver bouquets and bunches of blooms every Tuesday and Friday to Earth Fare, and provide our flowers to many talented floral designers across Western NC and the Upstate of SC. Plus we just started shipping our blooms again to florists across the country. Life is very full these days, but oh so good.
